Overall objective(s): To improve the local and regional capacity to apply the process of implementing industrial waste management that support the implementation of the EU Waste Management Directive, helping SMEs in the Afyonkarahisar Region to address their problems with waste management and disposal.
Specific objective(s): Securing ecologically sustainable development while promoting justifiable economic and social development in Afyonkarahisar region.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
• Analysis of legal documents and desk reviews done.
• Planning, setting up and administration of overall project.
• Carry out business development studies on waste management, energy efficiency, renewable energy (biomass, biogas) and feasibility studies for the production of new products with innovative methods for the recovery of marble, livestock and slaughterhouse waste.
• Management and technical capacity-building services provided to local SMEs (12) and chambers (9) in order to help them develop their positions
• Conducted consultancy and training services to 12 SMEs capacity-building projects for waste management and process efficiency/productivity services in manufacturing sectors (marble, livestock and slaughterhouse)
• Increase awareness of local start-up SMEs on export strategies, SME's /private sector development.
